Wave goodbye to the dark circles under your eyes

An unfortunate mix of late nights, early mornings and use of smartphones has driven many people to Google the best way to get rid of the dark circles under their eyes.

However, seven to eight hours of sleep per night and not drinking any alcohol before bed might sometimes not be feasible. Staying hydrated is an important step in the fight against the dark circles, because when the body is deprived of water, it retains as much as it can, causing puffy eyes. A hydrating gentle cleanser or make-up remover is also recommended, according to the Independent.

Topical treatments can also help you. Retinoids, for instance, stimulate the production of collagen, making the skin less thin while recovering volume and firmness. However, opt for a cream that contains a lower amount of retinol, because otherwise, you might irritate the sensitive area around the eyes. Other important ingredients to seek are hyaluronic acid and glycerin. Remember to apply these at night, so that the skin around the eyes doesn’t become irritated again in the morning.

Makeup and concealer can also work wonders. If your eye circles have a blue-purple tone, use a yellow concealer. If they’re redder, opt for a green tone.
