VIDEO: This Is What Raising a Disabled Child Is Like
It’s not easy to raise a kid on your own, especially if that child is disabled. You will need a lot of money and time and you will have to struggle every single day.
Nothing will ever be easy and you will have to worry about the smallest things and help the child with everything.
The video presents a bit of the what it’s like raising Bree.
Her mother shows us exactly what she goes through on a regular day and urges people to try and help her as much as they can so that she can have enough money to take care of her daughter and be by her side at all times.
If she doesn’t need to make money things will be a lot better for her.
According to gofundme.com, this what the struggling mother wants the world to know: Messages about the talk I gave to the nursing students about my life with Bree and the healthy choices I made to give Bree a healthy happy life.
It is so rewarding to carry on Bree’s legacy and hopefully make positive change for the parents and children – who choose – coming after.
So many people have come up to me talking about how great of a job you did yesterday!
One of them even said you made them interested in holistic medicine!-from Gillian Cahill who is a Coby student and worked with Bree for the last 1 1/2 years and was reading out loud to her and holding her hand as she passed from this world.
Aand from Anna White a nursing student at Colby.
Wendy, thank you so much for coming to Colby-Sawyer today! I can’t tell you how inspirational your story is.
You are such an amazing, strong person, and it is truly amazing to hear your speak.
I am blown away by your commitment not only to your daughter, but everyone that you affect through your teachings.
I wish there were more people like you who recognized the importance of nutrition, of dedication and commitment, and the importance of advocating, and fighting for what you want, and need, as well as what should be provided by the broader community.
Your commitment to continuing Bree’s legacy is inspiring, and I am amazed by your ability to maintain your composure.
I was holding back tears on several occasions hearing you speak.
Caregivers do not get enough credit, and certainly not caregivers who work around the clock to do what is best for their child.
It is clear from your talk how special Bree was, and is, and how many lives she touched.
Thank you for all the work you do. I hope you are able to reflect and feel proud of your accomplishments, because they are amazing. Keep fighting and sharing Bree’s story.
I know that you have made a difference, and will only continue to influence more change. Thank you for everything you do, and for sharing it with the Colby-Sawyer nursing community
