Born on September 19, 1948, Jeremy Irons has had a long career that includes several Golden Globe nominations and one Oscar win. His first major on-screen performance was in the role of Nephew George in the television series The Rivals of Sherlock Holmes. He won the Academy Award for his leading role in Reversal of Fortune (1990). His Golden Globe nominations include The Mission (1986) and the television series The Borgias (2011). Besides his numerous awards and nominations, Irons has also had the role of “Scar,” the villain from Disney’s The Lion King.
Even at the age of 69, Jeremy Irons is still hard at work in the entertainment business. He will soon appear in the role of Alfred Pennyworth in Justice League. He is also set to play that same role in The Batman, which just began pre-production. His other upcoming projects include Monumental and An Actor Prepares. Jeremy Irons is also getting close to almost completing one hundred acting credits, which proves that he is very dedicated to his craft.
