Naomie Harris’s film career

Learn about the extraordinary career of an Oscar-nominated British actress.

Born on September 6, 1976, Naomie Harris was originally from London, England. Harris began her entertainment career in 1987 by playing “Joyce” in the television series Simon and the Witch. Her career would later consist of numerous films and television productions. One of her most famous roles was as “Tia Dalma” in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest. In 2008, she had the starring role in the TV movie Poppy Shakespeare.

Harris then became very famous and recognizable between 2016 and 2017 thanks to her supporting role as Paula in Moonlight. The film itself won the Best Picture Academy Award, and Harris received both a Golden Globe nomination and an Oscar nomination even though Viola Davis won both of those awards. Even with such losses, Naomie Harris’s career is continuing to rise thanks to upcoming films like The Jungle Book and Rampage. It has also just been announced that Harris will play Eve Moneypenny in Bond 25 (but that is also possibly just a rumor for now). Naomie Harris is definitely a rising star!
