Tiger Woods asleep at the wheel before failing field sobriety test
Tiger Woods was asleep at the wheel in a stopped car 8 miles from his house at 2:08 am. When the cops came to check out the car he was completely out of it, leading to his arrest.
According to a police report, obtained by TMZ Sports, Woods was in his 2015 Mercedes sleeping at the wheel with the engine on and right blinker flashing. The report states Woods “had extremely slow and slurred speech.”
Woods told police he was returning from L.A California from golfing. Then later changed his story and said he didn’t know where he was or where he came from.
The report listed 4 drugs under medical conditions: Solarex, Vicodin, Torix, and Vioxx. In the notes, Vioxx was not taken this year. It states Woods had 4 left knee surgeries and 4 Achilles. Equally important, the report mentions Woods flunked the field sobriety exam badly–he couldn’t do the one-leg stand or touch his nose.
The report says when asked if he understood the Roberg alphabet test, he commented, “yes, recite entire nation anthem backwards.” Woods was then arrested and taken to a testing facility. At 4:28am, he took a breathalyser test and blew zero. Officers wrote in the report that Woods was “cooperative as much as possible, very droopy, extremely sleepy, hard to keep eyes open, hard to walk.”
Woods added he has had an “unexpected reaction to prescribed medications [and] didn’t realize the mix of medications affected [him] so strongly.”
He’s due for a court hearing in July.
