Strangest Shark Week yet. Michel Phelps to race the Great White
After booking Seal to advertise the newest Shark Week, Discovery revealed another celebrity guest. Michel Phelps, the 23 Olympic gold medals winner, will race off a Great White Shark in an event that Discovery channel calls “monumental.”
According to the company, “Shark Week” will include the episode “Phelps vs. Shark: Great Gold vs. Great White.”

The channel called the event “so monumental that no one has ever attempted it before” and added that “the world’s most decorated athlete takes on the ocean’s most efficient predator: Phelps V Shark – the race is on!”
According to Entertainment Weekly, Michael Phelps will anchor two specials, one in which he tries to take a shark to school by racing it, and another in which he goes to school, or rather, the Bimini Shark Lab, where he’ll learn all about the fearsome predator.
Shark Week will reveal 18 programs with Phelps and Seal not being the only stars featured in the series. Chris North from Sex and the City will be the narrator anchor.
