Taylor Schilling’s film and television career
Learn about one of the hottest young actresses working in entertainment today.
Born on July 27, 1984, Taylor Schilling has been a rising star recently. She starred as Piper Chapman on the hit Netflix series Orange is the New Black, which is based on the real memoir by Chapman. This coveted role has allowed Schilling to earn two Golden Globe nominations even though she lost to Gina Rodriguez for Jane the Virgin and Robin Wright for House of Cards. Schilling has actually earned the unique distinction of receiving nominations for both drama and comedy given the grayness of the genre for Orange is the New Black. Her role is still one of the most viewed performances on Netflix today.
Schilling’s talent is not limited to just television, though. She has co-starred alongside the teen heartthrob Zac Efron in The Lucky One. In this adaptation of Nicholas Sparks’s popular romance novel, Schilling plays the female love interest, Beth. This role is yet another example of how Hollywood enjoys making films based on Sparks’s work. Even at the age of 34, Schilling has proved that she can easily transition between various entertainment mediums.
