Madame Tussauds received backlash over Beyonce’s unrecognizable wax figure
Beyonce fans were outraged as photographs of her wax figures began to surface and they looked nothing like the beloved singer.
The highly popular wax museum announced on Twitter that the figure of Queen Bey was being relocated to their New York location. Several fans spoke out via Twitter claiming that the 35-year-old single ladies singer had been ‘whitewashed’.
One user pointed out the significant difference of skin tone the statue has compared to the artist. Others began to compare it to Mariah Carey, Taylor Swift, Kesha, Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan and even Kate Hudson.
The outrage spread to television and radio personality B. Scott as she chimed in: ‘Somebody should lose their job for this! Get it together . . .’
Some onlookers commented on exact replica of Kylie Jenner: ‘So how does Kylie’s wax figure look realer than while Beyonce’s look like a white Mariah Carey?’
Madame Tussauds responded to fans concerns as a claim that it was all a matter of lighting in the social media post.
A representative for the company told TMZ: “Our talented team of sculptors takes every effort to ensure we accurately color match all of our wax figures to the celebrity being depicted.”
‘Lighting within the attraction combined with flash photography may distort and misrepresent the color of our wax figures.’
Meanwhile Queen Bey is adjusting to becoming a mother-of-three after revealing her twins Rumi and Sir Carter on Instagram.
