The Linkin Park singer was found dead via hanging on Thursday, July 20.

The singer for the multi-platinum band Linkin Park committed suicide today, on July 20, 2017. His body was discovered just before 9 a.m. local time. Bennington was the father of six children from two different wives. He was at his own home in Los Angeles County at the time of his death.

Bennington was close to Chris Cornell—best known as the vocalist for Sound Garden—who died in May by suicide in his Detroit hotel prior to performing a show. The eerie coincidence: today would have been Cornell’s 53rd birthday if he was still alive. The question is if this was intentional or not. . .
