Elvis Presley passed away 40 years ago but this King will live on forever
The King of Rock died 40 years ago next month on August the 16th, but, this rock-and-roller is very much alive. His blue suede shoes have stood the test of time as his legend continues to expand through the spectrum of time.
The Mississippi born heart throb had an ever gowing career from the start. Setting hearts and charts ablaze the quiff lipped, knee shaking performer ruled the late 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. From ‘Blue Suede Shoes” to “Suspicious Minds” this prince became the king!
Elvis had over 20 number one albums and over 30 number one singles. From 1959-1962 he had 3 consecutive number one singles – year after year! Did his talents end here? Off course not. He starred in several movies splashing his over every Tv screen possible.
His very own home is one of today’s most popular tourist and fans sites to go and visit. “Graceland” in Memphis, Tennessee is run by his ex-wife Priscilla who is also the mother of his only child, Lisa-Marie Presley. The Mansion were Elvis once resided is also his final resting place.
Singers still sample Elvis Presleys’ work and it isn’t exactly hard for the Rock King to top the charts from beyond the grave. When you are the King that is easy peasey!
Films, books and biopics fly around our screens and shelves like there is no tomorrow. Johnathan Rhys Myers portrayed Elvis is the 2005 mini-series, which was written fantastically by Patrick Sheane Duncan.
Look-a-likes and Kareoke slayers fill Las Vegas with their shows and Wed people at the strips mini chapels. It is safe to say millions of people have tied the knot in front of Elvis.
Elvis died from a heart attack on August 16th 1977, rendering next month the serenaders 40th anniversary. But when we look at statistics like this and ask ourselves is the king really dead? The answer is a responding NO.
