Learn about the outstanding work of one of the most popular actresses working today.

Born on August 14, 1966, Halle Berry is one of the most recognizable women in the world. Her stunning beauty and dedication to entertainment has enchanted audiences for many years. She had to deal with a lot of issues, but it is clear that her work will stand the test of time.

Halle Berry’s rise to fame started in the late 1990s after she won her first Golden Globe for playing the title character in Introducing Dorothy Dandrige (1999). A very funny coincidence happened in early 2002 with regards to Halle Berry and Dorothy Dandrige. Dandrige received an Oscar nomination for playing the eponymous Carmen Jones in 1954. Halle Berry would then receive recognition as being the first black woman to win the Best Actress Oscar for her leading role in Monster’s Ball (2001). Such an occurrence led to Berry shedding emotional tears during her Oscar acceptance speech. She would then also share a famous kiss with Adrien Brody the following year when he won for The Pianist. Halle Berry’s contributions to entertainment definitely received a lot of recognition.

Recently, though, it appears as if Halle Berry has been experiencing some hard times. In the wake of the “#Oscars So White” controversy, Halle Berry famously remarked that her Oscar win “meant nothing.” She has also starred in some recent flops, such as Cloud Atlas (2012). Nevertheless, she just completed work on the film Kings set for release later in 2017, and she is also set to appear as “Ginger” in Kingsman: The Golden Circle (2017). Halle Berry is definitely leaving her mark on the entertainment world!
