Paris Jackson is attempting to gain her own footing in Hollywood outside of her father’s, Michael Jackson, legacy.
E! News Reports that Jackson has been casted for a feature film directed by Nash Edgerton, the highly accredited director/stuntman who recently worked in successful movies such as The Equalizer, American Ultra, The Bling Ring, and The Great Gatsby.
The film, set to be a comedy/thriller, serves up a star-studded cast ranging from Charlize Theron, Amanda Seyfried, Thandie Newton and David Oyelowo. The title is being determined, but Jackson will play a 20-year-old “edgy” character named Penny. Penny seems like a fitting choice for the aesthetic of 19-year-old Jackson and an exciting opportunity for the aspiring actress.

According to The Hollywood Reporter the movie is centered on a businessman named Harold (played by David Oyelowo), who stumbles into the world of drug lords and the FBI while in Mexico.
Earlier in the year, Jackson signed with IMG Models, joining talents like Bella and Gigi Hadid, Sailor Brinkley Cook and Hailey Baldwin.
The starlet expressed to Harper’s Bazaar that she wants to use her place in the limelight for good, adding: “It’s a feeling of doing something important, that actually matter, that’s going to impact people. Plenty of times I’ve thought of not doing anything in the public eye and having my own private life. Then I started seeing how everything in the world is going. And I feel like each year it’s getting worse.”
Fingers are crossed as we await this movie and what’s in store for Jackson’s grand plans.
