“Dear White People” has received some harsh backlash, from mostly white critics, but the series is getting the last laugh.

The Netflix original series depicts the role race plays in a fictional Ivy League university and it earned an astonishing 100 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, as of Tuesday afternoon.

The Rotten Tomatoes Twitter account announced the news, deeming the show as “certified fresh.”

Only two other shows have achieved this honour thus far this year.

Equally important, “Dear White People” is the only show with a majority minority cast to reach such a rating.

The show has hit home for a lot of viewers in light of the escalating violence of police brutality. Many people have praised the show for its realistic portrayal of societal issues many people of colour face on a day-to-day basis.

On-the other-hand, when a trailer was released in February of this year-a range of critics proclaimed the show to be “anti-white” and asked Twitter users to stop using the streaming service, creating the hashtag #BoycottNetflix.

In response to the mainly white critics on Twitter, Justin Simien (the film’s director and show creator) posted, “Equality feels like oppression to the privileged and thus three benign words send them into a fight for their very existence.”
