Stephen King’s epic series draws closer to our screens.
With plenty of teasing amongst social media outlets and controversy building around its suggested unorthodox casting, Nikolaj Arcel’s big screen adaptation of Stephen King’s Science Fiction western hybrid The Dark Tower draws ever closer, as this week Columbia Pictures revealed the film’s first trailer.
In the film, Idris Elba plays a lone gunslinger by the name of Roland Deschain who teams up with a boy by the name of Jake Chambers (Tom Taylor), when Jake is thrown into another dimension known as Mid-World.

Here, he learns that Roland is destined to forever be at loggerheads with a mysterious sorcerer (Matthew McConaughey) – purported to be a greater threat than the Devil himself. The sworn enemies are on the trail of “The Dark Tower”: the nexus between worlds, which holds the key to mankind’s survival.
Reportedly a sequel to King’s epic eight-part series, The Dark Tower hopes to appease fans of the source material and introduce a new audience to the series which began in 1982.
