If you’ve always dreamed of going to Comic Con International in San Diego, but are scared of the prices, try something local with the Garden State Comic Fest in New Jersey.
July is a big month among comic book nerds. Comic Con International, aka San Diego Comic Con (SDCC), is considered the nexus where all comic book and movie lovers gather. This year’s SDCC will take place from Thursday, July 20 to Sunday, July 23 and will include presentations from Marvel Studios, DC Comics, Lucasfilm-Star Wars, and many more. It is undeniably a great event. However, it is very expensive. With the cost of tickets, travel, and hotel, the bill quickly adds up.
For those that can’t afford the price tag associated with SDCC, the Garden State Comic Fest might be the solution. Comic fans will enjoy meeting the guests. This year, the New Jersey-based convention will have John Wesley Shipp (The Flash 1990 & 2014 series), Dean Cain (Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, Supergirl), and Loren Lester (voice of Nightwing on Batman: The Animated Series). Comic book guests include writers and artists such as David Finch (Action Comics), Walter Simonson (Thor), Adam Kubert (Avengers), and many more! Also included in the lineup are many cosplay performers!
