Broadway heads to the boroughs

Live outdoor Broadway performances are set for the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island this summer.

“Broadway in the Boros” is back for the 2017 summer season through the NYC Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment with a lineup of seasoned veterans like Chicago and newcomer Anastasia. The Parks Department has teamed up with the Broadway Theatre community to bring hit Broadway musicals to each of the boroughs. Starting June 23, afternoon performances are free and open to the public.

Not only will this popular program provide Broadway to local neighborhoods around New York City, but it will also include a screening of Disney’s Newsies, starring Jeremy Jordan (Supergirl, Smash), which debuted in theaters in February.
