The great Adam West, the original Batman, is gone. As much he will be missed, he cannot be brought back from the dead, but the City of Los Angeles has arranged to give him a meaningful sendoff.
The City of Los Angeles decided to light up the sky with the bat signal as a tribute to Adam West. The mayor himself is in charge of projecting the bat signal from city hall (LA Daily News). All Adam West and Batman fans were invited to line the steps of city hall to pay tribute to the actor and catch a glimpse of a symbol of their childhood.

The real question
Where on earth did the city get a bat signal, and exactly how much did that cost? (Really, a lot of people would want to buy that!) Well, if they had it for a long time, they have certainly been wasting it. Maybe if the city had used it more often, the public would have been able to see Adam West a little more before he left the world for good.
The one true Batman
This tribute was about honoring a man who gave society so much joy throughout everyone’s childhood. And if it made childhood dreams come true too, then that’s just another reason Adam West is the only Batman worth remembering.
