Jeremy Corbyn featured on NME front cover

Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn is set to appear on this month’s cover of British music magazine NME.

Corbyn will be featured on the front cover of this month’s issue of NME, and the magazine will also include an interview with him in which he discussed from music to political strategies.

In the interview, Jeremy Corbyn revealed that his favourite song of all time is John Lennon’s “Imagine” and that he is a big fan of Classic FM and BBC Radio 3 while he is relaxing at home. He also declared that his favourite music genres are classical, folk, jazz and world music, emphasizing composer Gustav Mahler as well as singers Joan Armatrading and Joan Baez as some of the musicians he listens to most. He was also asked to choose between bands Oasis and Blur. “I’m going to plump for Oasis, but I know this will immediately divide the audience, so what I should have said was, ‘I’ll refer it to a focus group to decide,’ but I’m not keen on focus groups,” he responded.

Regarding the Labour Party’s future policies, Jeremy Corbyn revealed that he was looking for solutions on helping the students that got debts after paying £9,000 a year in tuition fees. “There is a block of those that currently have a massive debt, and I’m looking at ways that we could reduce that, ameliorate that, lengthen the period of paying it off, or some other means of reducing that debt burden,” he explained.

Polls have repeatedly shown the Labour Party to be a favourite among the younger age groups, with NME’s own poll suggesting that 41% of those aged between 18 and 34 will vote for Jeremy Corbyn. “The future belongs to the youth, let’s go with it,” he concluded.
