End of the Planet of the Apes

Planet of the Apes franchise ends with War for the Planet of the Apes.

The new franchise was based on the original Planet of the Apes from 1968 with Charlton Heston. The Charlton Heston version was based on a French book, Le Planèt Des Singes. This franchise consists of 5 movies and an epic piece of the film art. The Charlton Heston movie and the latest films have the basic storyline as the apes are taking over the rule for the planet but that’s all the similarity. The original piece is a social critique of human kind. It deals with slavery and the mistreat of human kind. It is in many aspects more legendary than the new films. For instance, the ending scene with the liberty statue when Charlton Heston realises that he is on planet Earth will be never forgotten.

However, the new version of Planet of the Apes deals with the irresponsible genetical trials so the cause of the dawn of human kind is different than in the original version where a nuclear war causes the disaster. This new franchise is technologically better made than the old version but still the second and third part of the series cannot compete with the 1968 movie. The only watchable part was the first part of this new version.

In conclusion, there are forgettable parts of the Planet of the Apes franchise like the War for the Planet of the Apes but the message is clear. Human kind is superior on Planet Earth but it is fragile and it can lost especially by our own unthoughtfullness.
