Street Fighter 5: Punk’s chance of redemption draws near
Two street fighter juggernauts will soon clash, come this September.
Street Fighter 5 has revealed a lot of talented players, but few stand out like Punk. Victor Woodley, who goes by “Punk” in the FGC; is a rather young gamer, at the age of 18. Punk recently went on to defeat the very experienced Liquid NuckleDu, in a Karin vs Guile match-up. Placing first in the Eleague tournament granted Punk a grand prize, of $150,000. Punk made NuckleDu look amaterish in the bout, sweeping him in a 3-0 blow out. Punk’s shine though would soon come to an end, though just briefly, against Tokido.
Hajime Taniguchi, who goes by the name of “Tokido” in the fighting game community, recently dethroned the up and coming Punk. In what could be considered the biggest gaming tournament in the world, the two went head to head at EVO 2017 (Evolution Championship Series). Punk would pick Karin to battle against Tokido’s Akuma and Tokido, just proved too much. To make it short, think about what Punk did to NuckleDu, that is exactly what Tokido did to Punk. Tokido made Punk’s outstanding Karin look amateurish, defeating him 3-0, winning EVO 2017. Punk has a chance to redeem himself come this September in the East Coast Throwdown 2017.
Come this September, Punk will duke it out with the Legendary Nemo and if he pulls off this victory, this may be the talk of the FGC(Fighting Game Community), for quite some time. Nemo will more than likely use Urien against Punk’s Karin; Nemo is thought to be by many as the best Urien player, in the world. According to Eventhubs,
“At East Coast Throwdown this September, two Street Fighter 5 titans are going to clash in an exhilarating exhibition. Victor “PG|Punk” Woodley and Naoki “AW|Nemo” Nemoto will duke it out in a first-to-10 set with $2,000 on the line.”
So, since you now have the heads up, you can now place your bets on your favorite. Who will be victorous come this September, Punk or Nemo? Find out in the next episode of, East coast Throwdown!
