Amazon reveals its secret giveaway. This is how customers keep unwanted items and get money back

An unofficial policy regarding the way customers that buy from Amazon can keep unwanted items and still get their money back has recently surfaced in Great Britain, Daily Mirror reports.

The online giant’s policy is letting shoppers keep the items they do not want and still get their money back, with the policy thought to be regarding goods of maximum £10.

The consumer watchdogs think that this might be a move of handling costs, as it would be uneconomical for the US-based firm to take the goods back and return them to the warehouses. “It shows the power of the retailer that it can swallow costs in a way an independent shop could not,” one said.

Customers that have had goods of under £10 were told to keep the items while the company is processing their refund. “I couldn’t believe it but I think it’s good customer service. It’s nice to get the money back and not have to queue in the Post Office,” one woman said. She added that she received the message “We are processing the refund. You don’t need to return the item to us!”

Amazon has been having this practice in the USA for years, but it is believed this is the first time British customers experience it, too.

The American giant refuse to comment this policy.
