The people wanting to work within a European institution now have an opportunity. The European Personnel Selection Office announced several permanent and temporary positions that are available, as well as possibilities of detachment.
The European Food Safety Agency (EFSA), with headquarters in Rome, has several available positions of detached national experts. These will be actively involved in EFSA activities and, according to the experience and the unit they will be allocated to, will be able to support the activity of a scientific group or a network of representatives from the member states. They will also gather and analyze data, as well as evaluate risks, get involved in communication activities and internal/external relationships and will offer assistance for the activities of supporting enterprises.
The candidates that are interested must fulfill a series of requirements, including:
– being a national of a country member of the EU or AELS or a country that the Council decided to initiate negotiations for accession with and that signed a specific agreement with EFSA regarding – personnel detachment, except for the case in which the executive director gives a derogation
– being employed at a national, regional or local public institution or at an intergovernmental organization
– having work experience at the same employer, based on temporary or undetermined-length contract, for at least 12 months before detachment and remain in the service of the respective employer throughout the detachment
– having at least three years of experience working full time in administrative, scientific, technical, consultancy or supervising positions, on a level equivalent to the one necessary for the job
– knowing the English language on an advanced level (spoken and written) and a second language of the EU on a satisfying level, so that the necessary attributions can be fulfilled..

The European Centre for Disease Control (ECDC) has two available positions of temporary agent. For the first ONE, the institution is looking for a main specialist in pedagogy and teaching among adults in Stockholm, Sweden. Some of the selection criteria include:
– professional experience of at least 5 years on relevant position for this job
– proven experience in standard instructional design practices, including adult learning principles for both classroom and distance formats, in particular those that encourage application and acquisition of skills;
– experience in designing and organising training for health professionals, including face-to-face, online and blended formats;
– excellent command of English, both written and spoken.

The second position is for an expert in mathematical modelling and it is also located in Stockholm. The candidates need to have the following professional knowledge/experience:
– degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Mathematical Modelling or related field;
– at least 5 years professional experience, following the award of the diploma, of which at least 3 years’ experience related to the duties outlined in the job description;
– proven experience in the design and application of mathematical modelling to diseases and ability to use coding language to solve modelling problems;
– knowledge and experience in health economic evaluations, preferably in the area of vaccination; Experience in managing large scale projects and experience in coordinating the input of experts from across different disciplines;
– proven skills in communicating scientific results orally and in writing to different audiences;
– excellent level of English, both written and spoken.

The European Asylum Support Office (EASO) also has two available positions in Valletta, Malta: training officer and administrative assistant.
The training officer will be working in the Support for asylum department, the Training unit and will have tasks such as providing and promoting the training sessions for trainers (including online and direct courses) according to the EASO training curriculum (in EU countries and within the external dimension) and in operational context, including the support in special and emergency situations and external dimension; offering assistance when drafting, updating and/or optimising the training materials within the EASO training curriculum; offering assistance when writing materials for operational training in order to provide support to servants in members states and the relevant personnel that is detached.

The administrative assistant will be detached to one of the departments/one of the EASO units and will have tasks such as drafting of internal administrative files/notes, rules, reports, policy guidelines and procedures in compliance with the EU Staff Regulation, Conditions of Employment of Other Servants of the European Communities (CEOS) and Financial Regulation; provide assistance for acquistion transactions of the department/unit in close collaboration with the acquisition team and organise internal and external reunions. SESAR Joint Undertaking launched a recruitment procedure with the purpose of establishing of a reserve list for the position of legal officer. The activity takes places in Bussels, Belgium, when the headquarters of the SESAR Joint Undertaking is located and where the place of employment is.
According to the announcement, the legal officer will be employed in the Legal Affairs and Procurement Sector within the SESAR Joint Undertaking. He will have tasks such as:
– drafting opinions, reports and working documents on any legal problem arising in the SJU’s day to-day operations and in the implementation of applicable rules and policies;
– analysing legal documentation and conducting studies/analysis on the relevant legal and regulatory environment in which the SJU carries out its activities;

The European Agency for Fisheries Control (EFCA) is looking for a project responsible in Vigo, Spain. He will have to do, among others:
– support EFCA cooperation projects in relation with third countries;
– contribute to the organisation of and, when requested, participate to on-the-spot missions and national training and exchange of experience sessions for third countries officials;
– assist the relevant Desk(s) in coordinating the activities in view of the work programme and the project objectives;
– operate as temporary replacement for functions of other staff during absences.
The candidates that are interested in this position need to have at least five years of professional experience that is relevant for accomplishing the tasks, especially in at least one of the following domains: monitoring, control and surveillance systems (MCS), international development, training, law enforcement and professional experience and/or practical knowledge of fisheries/maritime rules and policies. The European Commission – Directorate-General for Informatics (DIGIT) announces a vacancy for a Director function in Luxembourg. He will be responsible for the management and coordination of information and telecommunication technology for the Commission’s services and, in particular, for identifying, articulating and implementing a modern and dynamic corporate Information Technology vision and a strategy which is fully aligned with the Commission’s overall priorities, the announcement writes.
The candidates are required to have, among others:

The European Personnel Selection Office (EPSO) is organizing an open competition that includes a selection based on qualifications and some tests, in order to draw up a reserve list from which the Institutions of the European Union, mainly the European Parliament and Council in Brussels and Luxembourg, may recruit new members of the civil service as ‘nurses’ .
Working under the supervision of doctors, nurses carry out complex executive and supervisory tasks, including:
– carrying out dispensary tasks such as welcoming patients, nurses triage, carrying out technical examinations and nursing care in accordance with internal protocols, primary health care (injections, dressings, administration of medicines), biological examinations, monitoring of patients,
– first aid and emergency care
– health promotion and immunisation campaigns
– providing assistance to doctors.
Candidates need to have a diploma in a nursing specialization from a EU member state, followed by a minimum of three years of relevant professional experience.
