Most British voters think Brexit was the wrong decision, according to this poll

A new poll taken 10 days after Theresa May called a snap election revealed that a majority of British voters think that Brexit was the wrong decision.

The survey, done by YouGov/Times found that 43% of voters believe Britain made a good decision when voting to leave EU. Yet 45% of the 1,590 people surveyed thought it was the wrong decision.

The results come just a few days after YouGov found that 44% of people opposed leaving the EU, while another 44% supported leaving the EU.

The percentage of people who feel uncertain remained a constant 12%. This is a crucial time for the Government, so the figures regarding opposition to Brexit being at a record high may be worrisome.

A chance to cancel Brexit? What would happen if Theresa May loses the General Election

May tried to justify the 8 June election, claiming that the Conservatives had a common vision of Brexit, while Westminster didn’t, and she needed a mandate to press ahead with two years of negotiations, according to the Independent.

Her decision to hold another election has been ridiculed by her critics and considered an opportunistic move, made to shut down the opposition. May urged voters to choose a “strong and stable government” at recent campaign events and refused to participate in televised debates even though there is a petition calling for her to do so that has over 115,000 signatures.
