NBC announced its revival of Will & Grace for a second season, which raised questions about other must-see TV series.
According to NBC brass, they’re hoping for more 30 Rock and The Office, and rumors have sparked about The West Wing being added to the list. Although, TV revivals are not guaranteed Will & Grace renewal was seemingly successful.
Deadline asked NBC boss Bob Greenblatt about other series the network had considered reviving: “We often talk about ‘The Office’, I’ve talked to [producer Greg Daniels] four times over the past few years. It’s always, ‘maybe some day but not now’. There certainly an open invitation but we don’t have anything happening right now. If he wants to do it, I’d like to do it . . . I’d [also say to Tina Fey] ‘Hey, you think some more ‘30 Rock’ makes any sense?’ She’d say, ‘I don’t know maybe’.”

Fey still executive produces and stars in Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Great News for NBC Universal. Greenblatt also expressed an interest in reviving ER or The West Wing, even going so far as to discuss the topic with Aaron Sorkin. The head of NBC paraphrased Sorkin’s reply: “You know I love that show and some day I’d love to revisit it, but it’s not going to happen right now.”
