At age 77, the director who created the Living Dead movie franchise, George A Romero, has passed away.

Some might argue George A Romero pioneered the zombie film franchise with his wildly popular Living Dead series of films. The first film in the Living Dead series was Night of the Living Dead, a cult classic which saw release in 1968.
