Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is a remaster of the 12th Final Fantasy game which was released in 2006 for PS2.
Released in 2006, Final Fantasy XII gets a fresh coat of paint. This time going under the title “The Zodiac Age” along with some new changes to bring this classic to the modern age. Most noticeably, Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age has been given a graphical update, featuring high-resolution textures which enhance the beauty of the game’s fictional world and its characters. In addition to the visual changes, The Zodiac Age has streamlined the character progression system, allowing the player to select skills and tailor each party member to suit a specific role.
This remaster of Final Fantasy XII also comes with extra features such as the new trail mode which seeks to test the combat efficiency of your party. In this optional trail mode, players face increasingly challenging enemies which will, on the highest levels, expose even the most well-oiled party to the most demanding enemies the game has to offer.

Speaking of combat, Final Fantasy XII has redefined the traditional turn-based combat the series is known for with a fresh new system which offers increased depth and strategy. Developers Square Enix achieved this by allowing party members to be managed by a series of programmable commands, known as Gambits. Gambits let players take full advantage of their characters by customising their battle tactics with precise commands. These commands range from healing an ally when their health drops below 30% to specifically targeting enemies with certain weaknesses.
In addition to the many unique features of Final Fantasy XII, this remaster seeks to bring this underrated title to a new audience with enough changes to captivate fans old and new. Players can expect an immersive package with The Zodiac Age and, in typical Final Fantasy fashion, there will be plenty of loot collection, intriguing character and a sprawling adventure to dive into.
