Dutch bodybuilder, Wesley Vissers, a twenty-two-year-old who has fashioned his body into the vintage aesthetic appeal of some former bodybuilding greats, is now being compared to unquestionably the greatest bodybuilder of all time, the Austrian oak, Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Arnold’s bodybuilding’s biggest icon. He won the top competitions for fun, was untouchable on stage, and his personality, combined with his body, meant that he appealed to the masses. He made the sport of bodybuilding more mainstream – take one look at Arnold, listen to the charismatic figure that is Arnold Schwarzenegger, and it doesn’t take a genius to work out why, why he’s been so successful not only in bodybuilding, but with his political and movie endeavours too. No doubt the new kid on the block, Wesley Vissers would be hoping to follow suit. If he ends his career with even half as much as success as Arnold’s, he would have had a very good time of it.
Wesley’s hunk of a frame is being picked up by different sectors of the bodybuilding fraternity all over the world and his picture is being paired with that of seven time Mr. Olympia winner, Arnold Schwarzenegger, in his bodybuilding prime. For any bodybuilder, just to be referred to in the same sentence as Arnold is high praise enough, but when various bodybuilding organisations start making like-for-like comparisons, it’s a sure enough reason to celebrate.
In today’s day and ages of modern building, aesthetics have been shunned in favour of mass, with bulky physiques more prominent in the industry which now includes distended stomachs and just overall more in proportional amounts size.
Wesley Vissers, the double of the legendary Arnold Schwarzenegger in his competing days, is taking the old stance, and has built his body to perfection for the visual appeal rather than pure muscle mass. It’s a goal that has seen him build a rock solid, magnificently balanced, amazingly chiselled physique, sculpting his body into the body double of Arnold in his bodybuilding days. If his career takes off anywhere in the same fashion as Arnold’s, he’s in for a very successful journey.
