Jerry West who is currently a part of the Golden State Warriors organization and has made that team the envy of the entire NBA. Yet, you almost never hear of his name, do you?
West was an instrumental and irreplaceable part of the Los Angeles Lakers organization. He left in 2000, as the team went on to win three titles, leaving a few on the table even. Jeanie Buss decided to hire Magic Johnson and have the Lakers front office take a whole new direction. Was there not room for Magic and Jerry to work together? Apparently not.
With word of that, the Clippers wasted no time at all reaching out to Jerry West and telling him that the reigns of their organization would be all his. Jerry West is intrigued by this, to say the least. It would really be detrimental to the Lakers if a legend like Jerry West were to join the Clippers organization. In particular at a time when the Lakers are struggling to rebuild their entire franchise since Kobe Bryant retired.
