Elon Musk about Tesla employees: “It breaks my heart when someone is injured”
Elon Musk told his employees at Tesla that he is concerned about their safety and wellbeing. Tesla CEO also said he want direct reports about factory injuries in an email he sent last week.
Musk expressed his concern a few days after a report found that the injury rate at the company’s manufacturing facility in Fremont exceeded the industry average in 2014 and 2015.
Musk wrote in the email that “no words can express how much I care about your safety and wellbeing” after Workface made public the report.
The CEO added: “It breaks my heart when someone is injured building cars and trying their best to make Tesla successful”.
He also plans to spend time on the assembly line and wants reports about all the injuries, without any exception. Moreover, he said he will like to meet with the safety team of the company and with every person that was ever injured in Tesla factories. He even plans to go down the production line and perform the same task they perform.
Previously, in an email sent to the Tesla employees in February, Musk called the claims on the high rate of injuries “disingenuous or outright false”.
