Could Wren Be “A.D.” on Pretty Little Liars?
[Warning: This article contains spoilers from season 7!]
On June 27th. Pretty Little Liars fans will be in for an emotional roller-coaster as the show that has captivated the world will finally come to end. After seven years of mysterious texts, tragic deaths, and countless hoodies; we will finally get to put a face to the infamous and misunderstood villain known as “A.D.”.
But if you’re a pretty little fanatic like me, you can’t help but try and figure out the head-scratching mystery yourself. Who is “A.D.”?
As the suspect list continues to dwindle, there is one person who has stuck the most since the premiere of season 7B. His name is Wren Kingston.
The dapper British doctor made a very suspicious reappearance in the episode “In the Eyes Abides the Heart” when he was seen having a quizzical conversation with Spencer [Troian Bellisario] Hastings in the airport. The entire scene seemed a little questionable as there was no explanation to why the two former flames were there, to begin with and what they were discussing.
Before the premiere of the second half of season seven, the show’s creator I. Marlene King has stated on several occasions that if you pay very close attention you may be able to guess the identity of “A.D.”. The show’s leading ladies and gents have also given the same cryptic message and have also added that this person “didn’t come out of thin air”.
Why do I suspect Wren Kingston you may ask?
During this past Tuesday’s episode, “The Hand the Rocks the Cradle:, I spotted a very interesting clue to who “A.D.” could be. During the very last moments of the episode, “A.D.” or someone in a hood, was seen drawing in the comic book that he or she stole from Lucas. Even though this may not seem like a very significant clue, it did let us know that this person may be devious and have a vendetta against the Liars and their loved ones, but they also can draw.
If you remember from several seasons back when Wren was a recurring character, he also could draw.
Aside from this one minor or major clue, we also know that this anonymous figure has a strong connection to Charlotte and is dead set on finding her killer. Charlotte spent a lengthy amount of time at Radley, where Wren was also stationed at. Could Wren have formed a relationship with Charlotte during her stay at Radley before it became a five-star hotel?
It’s also clear that the charming and swoon-worthy Wren we all came to adore is a shadow of the past. By his new appearance, it looks like Wren has a more edgier side to himself. Or could be a dangerous side?
We won’t know for sure what Wren is doing back in Rosewood or how he is connected to all of this, but it does make you think that the good Doctor could have a few deadly secrets of his own.
Do you think Wren is “A.D”.?
