Thousands of drivers caught using mobile phones on London roads in March
According to the Metropolitan Police, more than 2,000 drivers were caught on London roads in March using a mobile phone.
The Metropolitan Police stated they have caught 2,037 drivers using mobile phones on London streets and which are now facing a £200 fine and six points on their license. This means that on average, over 70 drivers were caught every day in March.
Moreover, across the entire country, almost 6,000 drivers were caught illegally using their mobile phone while being at the wheel.

Road safety charity Brake called driver distraction a “growing menace” and specifically asked for the £200 fine to be “significantly increased”.
