This beach in Thailand is a paradise of friendly monkeys
Monkey Beach is exactly what you imagine it is: a beach filled with monkeys. Monkeys roaming around, swimming in the sea and playing with people.
The beach can be found on the island of Ko Phi Phi Don in Thailand and it’s popular among tourists. The standard picture to get there is with a monkey by your side and the sea in the background. The monkeys aren’t shy and get pretty close to people. They’re also pretty quick to snatch people’s valuable items and any food stored in pockets or bags, as Metro reports.
The main residence of the monkeys is in the mountains next to the shore. Over time, they have learned that the beach is an ideal place to find fruit, seeds, crabs and leftover food from tourists. They aren’t hesitant when somebody offers them food and often run over to the snack-bringer.
After spending some quality time with the monkeys, you can snorkel, explore the coral and discover the beach. It is best to take your stuff with you when exploring, due to the snatching issues.
