Looking for a tropical getaway? These destinations are still cheap
Are you looking for a tropical getaway, but are afraid that it might leave your bank account empty? You might be happy to discover that there are some tropical destinations that are still cheap, so you don’t have to spend a fortune on visiting wonderful sites and swimming in waters of surreal blue.
Here are five tropical destinations that are still cheap.
Cuba
The largest Caribbean island, Cuba is one of the cheapest tropical getaways. An average dinner will cost you around 50 cents, while public transportation by bus will cost $0.015. The island is full of colonial sites, natural wonders and delicious food, making it a perfect backdrop for your vacation.
Indonesia
Indonesia is a traveller’s paradise with its over 18,000 islands. Besides housing the second largest tropical forest in the world, Indonesia has plenty of ancient cultural sites, some of them even World Heritage Sites. Tourists can also enjoy surfing, spa and scuba diving.
Thailand
Another popular Asian country, Thailand is still a favourite due to its impressive natural scenery, excellent food and a wide variety of touristic services. Most American or European tourists also don’t need a visa.
Nicaragua
The largest country in Central America, Nicaragua has growing eco-tourism, spectacular beaches and a vibrant nightlife. Those that visit the country are required to pay $10 for a tourist card that is valid for 30-90 days, and the general cost of the visit is very low.
Panama
Besides the possibility for tourists to visit beaches from two oceans, as well as various other natural attractions, the capital of Panama, Panama City, is an extremely active city which is bursting with events and nightlife. The only downside is the traffic, which can get quite congested in the morning and late afternoon.
