Emmy Rossum’s film career
Learn about a leading lady whose career is still on the rise
Born on September 12, 1986, Emmy Rossum began her career at a relatively young age. Before landing major roles in Hollywood, Emmy Rossum appeared in a wide variety of television shows and made-for-TV movies ranging from As the World Turns to Grace and Glorie. She earned a Golden Globe nomination for her leading role as “Christine” in the film adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera. That same year, she appeared in a drastically different film, the apocalyptic The Day After Tomorrow.
Emmy Rossum’s career is not limited to film, though. She has appeared on the television series Shameless in the role of Fiona Gallagher. Her upcoming projects include the film A Futile and Stupid Gesture in which she will play Kathryn Walker. Another film that she will appear in that is currently in post-production is Hard Power, which is set for release in 2018. Emmy Rossum might only be 31, but she is definitely an actress worth watching as her career continues to escalate to new heights.
