The first direct flight between Europe and Australia to launch in March 2018
The Australian airline Qantas has announced the world’s third-longest passenger flight with the launch of a non-stop trip between Perth and London, beginning in March 2018.
The 9,000-mile flight is expected to take about 17 hours and run 14 times each week. It will be the first non-stop flight between London and Australia.
“Australians have never had a direct link to Europe before so the opportunities this opens up are huge,” said Qantas CEO Allan Joyce, cited by Fortune Magazine.
