McDonald’s blamed hackers for calling President Trump as “disgusting” on its Twitter account

McDonald’s announced that the tweet from one of its official accounts, where President Trump was called “disgusting” and with “tiny hands”, was posted by hackers.

The message, which read [email protected] You are actually a disgusting excuse of a President and we would love to have @BarackObama back, also you have tiny hands”, was posted on Thursday afternoon from the fast-food outlet’s corporate account and was briefly pinned to the top of the page before being removed, Evening Standard reports.

“Based on our investigation, we have determined that our Twitter account was hacked by an external source. We took swift action to secure it, and we apologize this tweet was sent through our corporate McDonald’s account,”, the company said in a statement posted on its website.

After deleting it, the page mentioned that the company’s account was “compromised”.

Although the President didn’t responded to the message, it quickly sparked his supporters’ fury, some of them vowing to boycott the fast-food chain.

On the other hand, there were also users less keen on the controversial tweet, one of them even using the restaurant’s well-known slogan “I’m Lovin It”.
