Exclusive: Black Sabbath Reunites for Final Concert – Ozzy Osbourne Shares New Details

The original Black Sabbath lineup, which included Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward, will reunite for a farewell show on July 5, 2025, at Birmingham’s Villa Park, in a huge announcement for heavy metal fans. Appropriately called “Back to the Beginning,” this performance will bring these trailblazing musicians together on stage for the first time in two decades.

In addition to saying goodbye to supporters, the event serves as a fundraiser, with the money raised going to charities such Birmingham Children’s Hospital, Acorns Children’s Hospice, and Cure Parkinson’s. The sale of tickets is scheduled for February 14, 2025.

Metal heavyweights Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Gojira, Halestorm, Alice in Chains, Lamb of God, Anthrax, and Mastodon will join Black Sabbath for this momentous event. The musical director, Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine, promises a memorable performance.

Ozzy Osbourne, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2020, reflected on the significance of this homecoming and shared his strong bond with Birmingham: “It’s time for me to give back to the place where I was born.” How fortunate I am to have the support of those I care about. “The real home of metal is Birmingham.”

Emily Harper: After twenty years, how does it feel to be getting back together with the founding members of the Black Sabbath, Ozzy?

Ozzy: It’s truly a range of feelings. It feels appropriate to be back together in Birmingham, where it all began, even if we’ve all had our own travels. It’s similar like ending a chapter where it started.

Emily: What are the expectations of the audience for this last performance?

Ozzy: We intend to give the unadulterated enthusiasm and fire that characterized our early years. Fans’ favorite songs will be on the set list, and with friends like Metallica and Slayer joining us, it will be an unforgettable evening.

Emily: Additionally, this concert is a charity event. Could you elaborate on that for us?

Ozzy: Definitely. All earnings will be donated to Acorns Children’s Hospice, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Cure Parkinson’s. It means a lot to give back to the community that helped us.

Emily: How are you getting ready for this show, considering your health issues?

Ozzy: In order to be at my best, I’ve been concentrating on my health. For me, this is more than simply a performance; it’s a farewell to the city and the fans who have supported us from the beginning.
