World highest ATM has been installed at Khunjerab Pass by NBP
National Bank of Pakistan has installed the World’s highest ATM (automated teller machine) at Khunjrab Pass, near the China Border at the altitude of 15,397 feet above sea level.
Another world record is being settled by National Bank of Pakistan by installing an ATM at the height of 16,007 feet above sea level.The venue of newly world’s highest ATM is on the route of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and will be helpful for growing needs of tourists in the area and the increasing business activities.It is consider that it will attract the millions of visitors from all over the country and increasing numbers from neighbors China as well.
National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) is a major Pakistani commercial bank with headquarters in Karachi. Although state-owned,the bank provides both commercial and public sector banking services. It is a lead player in the debt equity market, corporate investment banking, retail and consumer banking, agricultural financing, treasury services. As of March 2017 it has 1,450 branches across Pakistan with assets of approximately USD 17.2 billion.
The president of NBP Saeed Ahmad said:
“We are very proud to have won this well recognized international title for installing the world’s highest altitude ATM.”
This is the second time NBP has been awarded a position in Guinness World Record, the first time was in July 2009 for planting over 532,887 mangrove saplings in a day at Keti Bander.
NBP also has branches /offices in many countries which included United States, UK, Canada, Germany, France, Bahrain, Egypt, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, The People’s Republic of China, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyz Republic, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia.
