Anthony Scaramucci: the new face of the White House Communications

On July 21st, 2017 the White House named a new communications director, none other than Anthony Scaramucci.

Who is the man recently named Communications Director for the White House?

He is Anthony Scaramucci, and he is no stranger to politics. The founder and former co-manager of a global hedge fund known as SkyBridge Capital, reportedly worth 11.2 billion in assets, was named Director of Communications for the White House Friday afternoon. He met with President Donald Trump Friday morning. Shortly after, White House press secretary Sean Spicer announced his resignation. Just a little while later, to the dismay of some in the administration, Anthony Scaramucci accepted his new role.

Scaramucci has hosted several different financial conferences, became the senior vice president and chief strategy officer of the Export-Import Bank in June, has defended Wall Street every chance he has had, and is an alumnus of Goldman Sachs. A Republican in New York who has donated to the Republican party of many occasions, initially was a supporter of Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush. He sold SkyBridge Capital in January, a deal thought to be worth 200 million, preparing for a role in the Trump administration.

The Communications Director position was vacated in late May when Mike Dubke, a veteran GOP strategist, stepped down from the position.

Now we will see how the 2016 Wall Streeter of the Year (Yahoo Finance) will handle this role on behalf of the always-under-scrutiny Trump administration.
