Disney to open Star Wars Hotel where visitors can be plunged into an immersive adventure

Star Wars fans have all the reasons to rejoice, as they will soon be able to play their part in an interactive adventure inspired by the movie franchise. Disney confirmed a new Star Wars inspired resort will be built.

The hotel will be part of Disney’s new “360 vacation” concept, in which guests get to be part of their favourite stories. “It’s unlike anything that exists today,” said Bob Chapek, chairman of Walt Disney Parks & Resorts. “From the second you arrive, you will become a part of a Star Wars story! You’ll immediately become a citizen of the galaxy and experience all that entails, including dressing up in the proper attire.”

“Once you leave Earth, you will discover a starship alive with characters, stories, and adventures that unfold all around you. It is 100 per cent immersive, and the story will touch every single minute of your day, and it will culminate in a unique journey for every person who visits,” Chapek added.

The loaction and completion date for the resort remain unknown. However, Disney also announced two new Star Wars themed lands are in the works with both expected to be finished by 2019. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will first open at Disneyland, California, before launching at Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World in Florida, according to the Independent. Two major rides have been planned: one will allow visitors to be part of a battle between the Resistance and the First Order and the other will let them fly the Millennium Falcon.
