Brits rush abroad to chase the sun this Easter
British people seem to prefer going-away vacations to sunny places for Easter 2017.
Internet flight searches are up to 25% ahead of the holiday weekend – with Barcelona and other European hotspots twice as popular as UK favourites like Newquay, according to the Sun. However, Newquay is the most popular search on home land only for Easter 2017. It ranks ninth on the list of top searches. Some other popular searches are Brussels, Amsterdam and Bordeaux.
Londoners want to get away during the Easter 2017 break, 63% of the city’s residents having the desire to flee the capital. Yorkshire is the least appealing region for Brits surfing the web for Easter trips, according to Gopili.
UK’s 2017 City of Culture Hull is not too famous, as searches for it are down 19%, while searches for Doncaster and Leeds dropped 18% respectively 10%.
