How to find the right swimsuit for you

If you spent all winter getting into shape, now is the time to find the right swimsuit.

With the official start of summer right around the corner, a lot of people will be out trying to find a new swimsuit to hit the beach, the pool or the water park. Believe it or not, finding a swimsuit can be rather difficult with all of the different colors and styles. But rather than being so concerned about a color, what we should all be looking for is the right swimsuit for your body type.

For example, if you have a big chest something with a subtle print and a shirred waist will keep the focus off the chest. You also want to go for something halter style that ties in the back of the neck for that extra support.

If you are pear shaped, you want to find something that balances your proportions and gives you the right coverage on your bottom half. For a typical fix, look for a skirted bottom that falls just below the thickest part of the thigh. Avoid a boy short bottom; all that’s going to do is make your hips look as wide as the Mississippi river.

If you have a small chest, you don’t need as much support so you can easily get away with sporting a strapless top. You want to look for tops with less coverage, embellishment, ruffles and patterns to create the illusion of a bigger chest.

For those who have an athletic body type, you want to play up your understated curves. There are many tips for those with an athletic body type. Tops or bottoms with bold prints, ruffles, and embellishments can help create a curvier look. Monokinis create fabulous curves and honestly look good on a lot of people. Tie-side bikini bottoms enhance curves and adjust perfectly to your size. So everyone wins.

With all of that being said, happy swimsuit shopping!
