Jackie Kennedy made this adjustment to all her shoes

Jackie Kennedy is a style icon and arguably the most emblematic First Lady. One of the secrets of her impeccable style is the fact Kennedy customised her looks down to the very last inch.

In the upcoming memoir Jackie’s Girl: “My Life with the Kennedy Family”, her former assistant reveals exactly how careful the First Lady was with her wardrobe.

“The bedroom walk-in closet was jam-packed with Madam’s everyday clothing, all arranged according to colour.”

“I had never seen such a dazzling selection of shoes! London-look boots, pumps in every colour, spotless sneakers for morning jogs around the reservoir,” writes Kathy McKeon, who maintained Jackie Kennedy‘s wardrobe.

The shoes, however, possessed the most fascinating detail one can imagine.

“More intriguing to me was the quarter-inch lift affixed to one heel on each pair of shoes, apparently meant to compensate for one leg being slightly shorter than the other,” she claims. “No one would have ever guessed.”

This extreme attention to detail is one of the reasons why Jackie’s style is considered timeless and is still revered today.
