80 year-old body builder shares her fitness secret – VIDEO

If you want to get fitter but are unable to stick to a workout routine, this story will surely motivate you. Ernestine Shepherd is 80 years old but looks fitter than many other younger people. She has won two major bodybuilding titles and has been named the World’s Oldest Competitive Bodybuilder by the Guinness Book of World Records.

The 80-year-old has shared a few of the fitness secrets behind that incredible body. Discipline and motivation are the main reasons she has been able to look like this for so many years.

Ernestine wakes up at 3 am every morning, runs 80 miles every week and lives on a low calorie-controlled diet.

The World’s Oldest Competitive Bodybuilder said that determination and motivation are key in keeping up to such an intense routine.

“But remember, no matter what you do, you have to be determined. You have to be dedicated and disciplined. It takes four things to get fit: eat correctly, drink plenty of water, do some type of strength training and do some kind of cardio. Don’t listen to anyone who says you’re too old or starting out too late. Once you start exercising, honey, it’s a whole new ball game.”
