6 pieces of advice every teenager needs to hear
TEDx speaker and stand up comic William Beteet has shared his wisdom for teenagers approaching their 20s.
1 .Get amazing at something
Try to spend everyday getting really good at something. This way, you will end up having a highly valuable skill by the end of your twenties, which might help you when you will be looking for a job.
2 .Get rid of your TV
It is better to get rid of your TV if you don’t want to spend your 20s watching other people live.
3. Understand the compound effect
“The cost of an average cup of coffee from Starbucks is $2.45 if you order that everyday for a year you would have spent $894.25, a round trip ticket from Chicago to Copenhagen cost $506,” Beteet said. Unconscious decisions might keep you from living the life that you want.
4. Create a group of people with similar aspirations
A group of people with a similar mindset to yours will accelerate your growth and help you remain focused on following your goals.
5. Work out, dress stylish and eat well
Being good looking is a social passport, as Beteet explains, and it can grant you access to many life changing opportunities.
6. Go on an adventure
At least once you need to go for a trip that’s long and rough, that doesn’t involve hotels. The more difficult the journey is, the more it will change you.
