The aggressive attitude of vegans is putting off a quarter of Brits off vegetarianism

Vegans have a harsh reputation, as they are often painted as hippy preachers who will judge people for even looking at a steak, according to the Independent.

According to a new study from VoucherCodesPro performed on 2,363 meat-eating Brits, 26% of them are discouraged to give up meat and other animal products due to “the attitude of certain vegetarians/vegans”. When asked precisely about this attitude, the responses were: “they were quite aggressive to those eating meat” (37%) and “they consider their way of eating to be the only way”.

RP @naomzzb This would be funny, if it wasn't actually funny in reality… The dairy industry has a lot to answer for! Babies die and animals suffer. Besides which, despite the propaganda, dairy isn't actually good for you and is known to be a major contributor to certain types of cancers. #thechinastudy #cancer #breastcancer #dairyisscary #ditchdairy #veganfortheanimals #educateyourselves #dontadvocatecruelty

So true ?? The #dairy industry is lying to you. Massive companies like #dairycrest make £50.6m a year profit. In 2012, the British #dairyindustry spent £124m on promotion and advertising. That includes #school educational programmes and materials. They know the #health impacts of dairy, the damage it is doing to our #planet , the harm it is causing #animals , but that huge profit margin doesn't care about any of that. – OPEN YOUR EYES. REBEL against these people who want to harm and control you ————————————— If you haven't already, here are some reasons to #ditchdairy: . ✖️Its packed full of hormones✖️ ✖️Cows don't naturally produce milk, they are raped & their babies are taken from them. Mothers cry out for days ✖️ ✖️Male calves, if not used for #veal , are usually shot as they are not seen as valuable ✖️ ✖️Female calves get put through the same horrors their #mother went through until the average age of 5, when they have been raped and used too many times they are no longer useful so are then sold for their flesh. #Cows ordinarily would live to 20✖️ ✖️Cows have feelings and build relationships , just like your dog. But you wouldn't be cool with this happening to your #dog ✖️ ✖️Milk is scientifically proven to actually REDUCE BONE DENSITY. In the #uk , where we consume a lot of dairy, our rates of #osteoporosis are much higher than other parts of the world ✖️ ✖️Dairy is linked to #cancer & turns the #body more acidic ✖️ ✖️Significantly reduces #conception rates and #fertility and aggravates #gyne conditions✖️ ————————————— So if you do one thing today, take a stand against the dairy industry ? – – Photo #regram from @veganminded ??

The top five reasons why omnivores don’t want to go vegetarian or vegan were:

– I like the taste of meat too much (81%)

– Meat substitutes are too expensive (58%)

– I’d struggle for meal ideas (50%)

– My family eat meat and wouldn’t consider going vegetarian or vegan with me (41%)

– The attitude of certain vegetarians/vegans has put me off (26%)

Despite these findings, the number of vegans in the UK has risen by 360% in the last decade, making veganism the fastest growing lifestyle movement in the UK.
