Guy Ritchie’s entertainment career
Learn about the life and career of this famous director along with his upcoming projects.
Born on September 10, 1968, Guy Ritchie is a very interesting director. He actually dropped out of school at the age of 15, and became a runner in the entertainment business. That decision ultimately launched his film career. In fact, he wanted to make films ever since he saw Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969) as a child. He worked with Madonna on a short video, and even married her four eight years before their divorce in 2008. To date,Guy Ritchie has directed only a few projects, which include Sherlock Holmes (2009) and the box-office flop King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (2017). He is also currently married to Jacqui Ainsley.
His upcoming projects include the highly anticipated live-action film adaptation of Disney’s Aladdin. Will Smith is set to play the Genie, a role originally made famous by the late Robin Williams. Guy Ritchie’s upcoming project will hopefully follow in the footsteps of other live-action Disney film adaptations, which include Beauty and the Beast (2017) and Alice in Wonderland (2010).
