Samantha Barks’s Film Career
Learn about one of the hottest young stars on her own rise to fame.
Born on October 2nd, 1990, Samantha Barks is no stranger to the theatrical world. She has appeared in the role of Nancy in the West End production of Oliver!, which is the famous musical adaptation of Charles Dickens’ Oliver Twist. She has also played Éponine in both the stage version and the 2012 film adaptation of Les Misérables. That was ultimately her big break as an actress because it was her first major role in a motion picture. Not only that, but she also beat Lea Michele and Taylor Swift to bring Victor Hugo’s iconic character to the silver screen. Besides playing that coveted role, Samantha Barks is currently hard at work on a variety of different projects. She just began pre-production on a film called Strike! in the role of Rebecca Almazoff. She also just finished playing “Connie” in a film called The Revenger: An Unromantic Comedy, which is currently in post-production. Samantha Barks might have begun her film career only recently, but it is clear that she is a major talent worth watching.
