Bill Murray to read poetry on Brooklyn Bridge this June

Actor Bill Murray will be reading poetry on June 12 on Brooklyn Bridge as part of the 22nd Annual Poetry Walk Across the Brooklyn Bridge.

The actor will be joining poets Billy Collins, Sharon Olds, Gregory Pardlo, and Claudia Rankine on June 12 in the 45-minute walk that will take place on the 1,1-mile bridge.

This isn’t the first time the actor has participated in the event, with Poets House executive director Lee Briccetti saying that Murray has rarely missed a walk since 1996.

“Bill fell in love with the event, with the serendipity of reading the poems on the bridge, and he’s proved himself to be a great supporter of Poets House,” Frank Platt, the one that introduced Murray to the event, said.

Tickets for the event start at $250 for the general public and can reach $10,000 for a premier ticket at the Poets House dinner and reception that take place after the walk.
