He received a Golden Globe nomination and an Oscar nomination for his role as Alan Turing in The Imitation Game. He has also played a variety of characters ranging from the eponymous Sherlock to Doctor Strange to William Shakespeare’s Hamlet in 2015. Cumberbatch is definitely a leading man in many different ways.

Cumberbatch has also made contributions to literature and entertainment. He has played iconic characters like lending his voice to Smaug in The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies in 2014.
